Dr. Hu is actively involved in mentorship of medical students and residents from across the country by founding www.mdconsultants.ca, a Canadian healthcare education and consulting company that cultivates a cohesive community of over 1000 current and future medical professionals. As a McMaster surgical alumnus, he has been the head instructor for suturing workshops for surgical residents across all disciplines for 2 years.

He is a two time graduate from the University of Toronto (Bachelor of Science with Honours in Biochemistry and Pharmacology Double Major (2009) and Doctor of Medicine (2013)).  Dr. Hu subsequently trained at the Division of Plastic Surgery, McMaster University, during which time he served as Chief Resident.

Dr. Hu is passionate about medical research and has won numerous national and international awards. He also founded “Plastic Surgery Fellowship.org” (www.plasticsurgeryfellowship.org) to facilitate advanced plastic surgery training and education around the world, with over 5000 professional members in the network. Aside from North American recognitions, his work has been featured internationally by the European Journal of Plastic Surgery, the Chinese Society of Plastic Surgery and the International Confederation of Plastic Surgery Societies (ICOPLAST).
