Dr. Mohammad Keshoofy

Dr. Mohammad Keshoofy is a board certified general surgeon who graduated from Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Tehran, Iran in 1990. During his years of medical school, he actively engaged in medical research and published many articles on Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder in war Veterans.

Dr. Keshoofy was one of 3 students who established a student research centre in the medical school. After graduating from medical school in 1990, he served for 2 years as a military physician before starting a residency in general surgery at Modarress Hospital, Tehran, Iran. During his 5 years of surgical training, he started a computer database system for esophageal and gastric cancer. He practiced general surgery in a community hospital for more than 2 years after graduation. Because of his interest in esophageal and gastric surgery, as well as lung cancer, he was appointed to a teaching position in thoracic surgery at a 600 bed university hospital and research centre, Massih Daneshvari Hospital.

He was Director of Clinical Research Department, as well as Director of Information Technology Department at MDH for 3 years, and practiced thoracic surgery operating on many patient with lung cancer, tracheal cancer, colon, thyroid, breast and esophageal cancer.

After moving to Canada in 2003, he was accepted for Specialist Assessment Program at University of Ottawa in 2004, and achieved his Canadian Board Certificate in General Surgery, and fellowship of Royal College of Surgeon of Canada in 2006.

He moved to Alliston, ON and started a career in general surgery in 2006. He has served as chief of surgery for 3 years and as co-chair of Quality and Patient Safety Committee at Stevenson Memorial Hospital, Alliston, ON.

While working full time at Stevenson Memorial Hospital, he received his fellowship from American College of Surgeons, and a Master’s Degree in clinical research from United States.

He has hold the position of Medical Director at SimcoDerm Medical and Surgical Dermatology Centre in Barrie, ON since 2013,  and Richmond Hill Medical and Surgical Centre since 2015.
