Dr. Mohammad Yaghoobi

Dr Yaghoobi is a board-certified advanced endoscopist by both American Board of Internal Medicine and Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at McMaster University and is involved in training of the future endoscopists.

Dr Yaghoobi’s clinical expertise includes family history of digestive cancer, anemia, endoscopic treatment of precancerous lesions and early digestive cancers and advanced endoscopic procedures including complex polyp removal, ERCP, and endoscopic ultrasound.

Dr Yaghoobi did his specialty training at the University of Paris, McMaster University, University of Toronto and McGill University. He then attended the Medical University of South Carolina, one of the pioneer centres in advanced endoscopy in North America, for further specialization in performing advanced endoscopic procedures.

Dr Yaghoobi is currently on the editorial board of the Canadian Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology and an editor of the Cochrane Upper Gastrointestinal and Pancreatic Diseases Review Group. He was the first Editor-in-Chief of the American College of Gastroenterology Case Reports Journal and serves on the Publication and International Relation Committee of the American College of Gastroenterology. He has published more than 70 papers and abstracts which have been cited more than 1100 times in the literature.

He is a member of several organizations, including, the American Gastroenterological Association; American College of Gastroenterology; and Canadian Association of Gastroenterology.
